In the scope of high-end interiors, some projects quietly whisper luxury rather than shout it. This is one of them. Designed by Akka Interiors, this luminous living room perfectly captures the studio’s refined approach: timeless design, elegant proportions and a deep respect for natural light.
Every element of this space feels intentional – from the panoramic windows framing the mountain landscape to the warm interplay of creamy textiles and golden undertones. It’s an interior that seems to breathe with the rhythm of the day, revealing new nuances as the sunlight shifts across the room.
At the heart of this project lies a sense of calm sophistication. The design doesn’t compete with the view; it harmonises with it. The Megan Armchair, with its sculptural yet inviting silhouette, plays a key role in achieving this balance: a piece that’s anchored in comfort and elevated in form.
For interior designers, this project serves as a reminder that luxury often resides in restraint: a masterclass in how textures, light and scale can create an emotional connection between space and person.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
Akka Interiors’ design philosophy thrives on clarity and balance. The studio understands that the living room — especially in a high-rise apartment with sweeping views — should serve as both a hideaway and a showcase.
Let’s explore the design logic that makes this project so seamless.
1. The Power of Light
The first thing that captures our attention is the light. The space is orientated to celebrate natural illumination throughout the day. The soft, floor-to-ceiling curtains in sand and ochre hues don’t just filter sunlight – they sculpt it. This choice of textile layering adds warmth and depth, transforming a minimalist scheme into a sensorial experience.
The sunlight’s golden reflection on the brass details of the side tables and curtain trims reinforces a visual dialogue between nature’s glow and crafted elegance.
2. Tonal Harmony and Materiality
Akka Interiors demonstrates exceptional control of tone and texture. The palette stays within a soft neutral range: ivory, beige and muted golds. Yet, the combination of velvety upholstery, polished metals and matte wood finishes prevents monotony.
The Megan Armchair stands as a focal point in this composition. Its compact form and gently curved lines offer structure and softness – a dialogue that defines the entire room. Resting on solid wooden legs, the armchair bridges modern comfort with mid-century finesse, echoing the architectural precision of the apartment’s design.
Placed opposite a modular sofa in a matching hue, the pair of Megan Armchairs establishes symmetry and intimacy. Their curved shape naturally encourages conversation, framing the living area around the amber-toned coffee tables that bring a touch of sculptural artistry.
3. A Seamless Flow Between Living and Dining
Rather than treating the living and dining spaces as separate zones, Akka Interiors merges them into a continuous flow. The dining area extends the same design language – creamy upholstery, wooden accents and golden undertones – creating a unified atmosphere that transitions gracefully from day to night.
A glass chandelier floats above the dining table like a cluster of dewdrops, adding a touch of lightness against the rich wood flooring laid in a chevron pattern. Behind, open shelving with curated art and objects provides a quiet rhythm, a reminder that storage can be as decorative as it is functional.
The result is an environment that feels organic, not staged. The design invites you to move, to pause, to linger.
4. Balance Through Geometry
Geometry plays a subtle but crucial role in this project. Straight lines – from the architecture and cabinetry – are softened by curves: the round coffee tables, the sculpted backs of the armchairs, the fluid chandelier.
This equilibrium between structure and softness defines the room’s identity. Nothing feels static or overly rigid; instead, the design flows effortlessly, much like the mountain panorama beyond the glass.
For interior designers, it’s a perfect example of how to manage proportion. The key takeaway? Balance the architectural rigour of a modern space with furniture that introduces movement and tactility.
GET THE LOOK
The Megan Armchair offers a minimal and distinctive style, embodying a timeless design that remains perpetually in vogue. It serves as an aesthetic element and a practical solution for everyday living.
Crafted with a wooden structure, the deep convex back seamlessly flows into the armrests, showcasing harmonious craftsmanship. The armchair also features two single-top stitching details, adding an extra layer of comfort.
With its enveloping lines and soft curves, the Megan Armchair is the perfect choice for residential and public spaces, combining elegance and functionality in any setting.
The beauty of this Akka Interiors project lies in its quiet confidence. It doesn’t need bold colour or ornate decoration to make a statement. Instead, it teaches us that timeless interiors are built on balance: between light and shadow, structure and softness, function and feeling.
The Megan Armchair embodies that same duality – a design that’s humble in scale but rich in presence. Within this serene living room, it becomes more than just seating; it’s an invitation to pause, to reflect, to connect.
For interior designers, the takeaway is clear: through mindful material choices, cohesive palettes and sculptural forms, we can create interiors that transcend trends and speak directly to the senses.
