Inside The Stylish Friend’s Latest Project: A Living Room Designed For Real Life

In a landscape where interiors are increasingly shaped by fast trends and limited retail options, The Stylish Friend emerges as a refreshing counterpoint – one that resonates deeply with today’s interior design professionals. This project isn’t just about styling a beautiful room; it’s about rethinking access, transparency and individuality in home design.

This project presents a carefully curated living space anchored by three key pieces: the Chloe Sofa, the Colbert Bench and the Low Pouf. Together, they form a composition that feels layered, personal and quietly sophisticated – proof that thoughtful interiors don’t require excessive budgets or compromise on quality.

For interior designers, this project matters because it tackles a familiar challenge: how to create spaces that feel bespoke and elevated while working within real financial constraints. The Stylish Friend responds to this challenge with a clear philosophy – design should be accessible, honest and deeply personal.

How The Stylish Friend began

The origins of The Stylish Friend are rooted in lived experience rather than theory.

After moving from the US to the UK, Priscilla found herself frustrated while furnishing her own home. Between purchasing costs, stamp duty and legal fees, the budget she had envisioned quickly disappeared. What remained was a stark reality: unless you were an interior designer with access to trade suppliers, affordable furniture options were limited and often repetitive.

At the same time, Aushi, working extensively within the UK market, understood how trade discounts are typically safeguarded as part of a designer’s compensation. While this model is industry standard, it can unintentionally create distance between designers and clients who are increasingly seeking transparency.

Through many conversations, a shared question emerged:
Why should good design, trade access and affordability be mutually exclusive?

Translating philosophy into a physical space

That question is answered clearly in this project itself. The space is calm, composed and intentional – focused on proportion, materiality and comfort rather than excess.

Chloe Sofa

Our Chloe Sofa acts as the anchor. Its soft curves and generous proportions encourage conversation while grounding the room visually.

The Chloe Sofa is an exceptional design piece that exudes striking aesthetic balance and showcases refined materials. Available in two-seater, three-seater and chaise longue versions, it features a choice of wooden or metallic bases, along with an upholstered seat and backrest that can enhance any room.

A stitched line runs through the sofa for easy assembly and transport, while double-top stitching adds a premium touch.

Soft curves define every element of the Chloe Sofa, making it a statement piece in any interior design project!

Colbert Bench

The Colbert Bench introduces flexibility and structure. Positioned as functional seating and a sculptural element, it reinforces the idea that furniture should be beautiful, useful and adaptable.

Our Colbert Bench is an elegant, understated addition to contemporary interiors. Its fully upholstered, oval seat is accentuated by luxurious single and double-top stitching, adding a touch of sophistication.

The design stands on a striking metal T-shaped base with four metal legs, creating a unique contrast between the seat’s softness and the structure’s raw, clean lines.

Low Pouf

Completing the composition, the Low Pouf adds informality and ease. It supports modern living habits, where spaces are expected to evolve and accommodate different uses throughout the day.

Embracing classic design, our Low Pouf features a fully upholstered, round silhouette with a wooden base for timeless appeal. Subtle pleating around the sides adds an extra touch of elegance, ensuring it fits effortlessly into any project.

For interior designers, the logic is clear: selecting strong foundational pieces allows a space to feel rich in intent rather than cost.

This project by The Stylish Friend is a clear reminder that meaningful interiors are not defined by excess, but by intention. Through carefully chosen pieces like the Chloe Sofa, Colbert Bench and Low Pouf, the space demonstrates how strong design foundations, honest conversations and thoughtful curation can create homes that feel elevated and deeply personal.

Ultimately, it’s a project that empowers clients to invest confidently in their spaces and reminds designers that the true luxury of design lies in creating environments that feel authentic, considered and genuinely lived in.
