“The Business of Design: Global Perspectives on Trade, E-Commerce, and Distribution” is the title of the Round Table. With contributions from authoritative voices, it explores the crucial challenges and opportunities of an increasingly global industry, providing an overview of how it is being shaped by international trade, e-commerce and distribution strategies.

- In conversation with Bjarke Ingels | April 10th
Bjarke Ingels’s architectural vision redefines urban space by integrating materiality, technology and interaction, echoing Merleau-Ponty’s phenomenology. He views space as a lived experience, shaped through movement and perception, creating environments that go beyond functionality. His designs transform built spaces into immersive, dynamic arenas through material experimentation and technological integration. At Salone del Mobile 2025, Ingels will discuss these themes with Oliva Sartogo, exploring how architecture can reshape the future of urban design.

- NUOVO ARTIGIANATO: UN MONDO NUOVO // NEW CRAFTSMANSHIP: A NEW WORLD. | April 10th
This talk, curated by Marva Griffin, invites 700 designers and 20 design schools to explore New Craftsmanship: A New World. It challenges them to rethink handmade design beyond tradition, bridging heritage and the future. The goal is to foster sustainable, locally inspired craftsmanship that interacts with contemporary design, addressing evolving market demands and global export trends.

- Round Table: The Business of Hospitality | April 10th
The Round Table “The Business of Hospitality: Where Design Meets Functionality” explores the interplay between aesthetics and functionality in determining success in the hospitality industry. With an eye on innovations in the sector and the theme of sustainability, the meeting analyses the role of design as an instrument and enabler to improve and respond to the needs of contemporary travellers.

- Paolo Sorrentino. La dolce attesa | 08 – 13 April
La dolce attesa (Sweet Waiting) is Paolo Sorrentino’s project-installation for Salone del Mobile 2025 – a timeless space bridging present and future, where desire meets the fear of destiny. It embodies both emptiness and opportunity, reflecting Sorrentino’s view that “waiting is anguish, but sweet waiting is a hypnotic journey.” This in-between realm, where anything remains possible, is brought to life with the expertise of set designer Margherita Palli.

- Pierre-Yves Rochon. Villa Héritage | 08 – 13 April
Pierre-Yves Rochon’s Villa Héritage is an installation that celebrates time and experience, blending tradition with contemporary sensibility. Designed as a bridge between past and future, it transforms interior design into a shared, timeless language that unites the arts. Elegant and evocative, Villa Héritage redefines luxury as a multisensory experience—where harmony, culture, and memory converge to shape innovation.

- The Euroluce International Lighting Forum | 10 – 11 April
The Salone del Mobile.Milano has announced the first Euroluce International Lighting Forum, which will take place on April 10 – 11, 2025, at Rho Fiera Milano. Building on the success of the 2023 edition, which redefined the exhibition experience, this new biennial event highlights the central role of light in architectural design. As lighting becomes essential for sustainability and comfort, the forum will explore its evolving impact on both environments and individuals.
